The studio is a vibrant hub for students. I love teaching and inspiring others to develop their creativity through mosaics, be it weekday WEA classes, fortnightly Monday Mosaics evening classes or bespoke workshops, examples of students work is seen below. Whether you're an absolute beginner or have plenty of mosaic experience, there is something here for you.
All courses take place at Unit 6, Hartley Business Centre, Hucknall Road, Sherwood, Nottingham, NG5 1FD. The studio is on the first floor, the doors to the lift are heavy so please contact me for assistance if needed.

Enhance your mosaic-making skills with our Craft: Intermediate Mosaics course. Learn advanced techniques for creating intricate and detailed mosaic designs. Ideal for individuals with basic mosaic experience looking to refine their craft.

The aim of this course is to give an opportunity to develop your existing mosaic skills and will move you in the direction of a small business. A variety of approaches will be discussed, from selling online, at craft fairs, as well as bespoke commissions. You will be encouraged to undertake market research, to define your style, design products to sell and calculate costings. The aim will be to create pieces that can be sold at the forum of your choice.

The aim of this course is to enhance your mosaic making skills to a higher level. You will be learning from the ancients! Analysing and recreating elements of traditional masterpieces will help you understand the principles of cutting and laying used centuries ago. You will find that these techniques will be beneficial in your mosaic practice today. In addition, you will be encouraged to research contemporary styles of Andamento using less traditional materials and use your knowledge to create a unique design. Read more

These sessions are suitable for absolute beginners, returning students, and those with experience who enjoy the feedback and camaraderie of the group. Many have found that this is precious time carved out in the busy week to immerse oneself in ongoing projects or experiment with new techniques. These sessions are open to students from any of my recent courses or workshops (12 months), to come and work in the studio on current projects. This is not a teaching session but I will be around for help and advice if needed.
